  • Popis: The women work out of doors. One woman cuts off pieces of dough for loaves, a second weighs the pieces and a third rolls them into spheres. After baking, the women carry the trays out and loosen the loaves. A posed group of the women, very camera conscious and unable to stop laughing.The investiture takes place in the rear courtyard. Troops of the Army and Navy receive decorations, along with some Red Cross nurses who curtsy as they collect their medals.A large group of the men, a mixture of the original BEF, crashed airmen, shipwrecked sailors and men in the process of repatriation, is posed outside the internment camp huts. They have some Dutch children with them. Some of the men work repairing boots. One sergeant holds a small Dutch girl beside him. Inside the men's dormitories they relax. On the seafront a group of the men talks with girls in Dutch national costumes. There is a row of bathing machines along the beach behind them. Some of the internees in a café at Scheveningen talk and drink with Dutch civilians.
